Gabriel Fernández

Mexican Sculptor

With 20 years of career, Gabriel Fernandez has explored different artistic currents ranging from realism, expressionism, modern sculpture to abstract sculpture.

The interest in getting to know other sculptural languages up to close has led him to make several trips around Europe, highlighting Italy and France, countries where two of the greatest exponents are found: Michelangelo and Auguste Rodin.

Recent Work

In 2015 he was selected to create the sculpture ‘City of Artists’ for the Caribbean Culture Festival in Playa del Carmen, Quintana Roo. In 2020 he designed the Unity Day statuette in San José del Cabo and in 2022 the Pitahaya sculpture for the Sabores de Baja Gastronomic Festival.

He is currently working with different proposals on marine life, inspired by the natural wealth of Los Cabos and on the Shape and Sense collection, with which he seeks to reflect on the importance of sculpture as an object within space, freeing it from any specific meaning to establish a direct communication with the viewer's unconscious.
